The 15th Specialized Iran Project Exhibition in Turkmenistan
The 15th specialized exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran, titled "Iran Project," was held in Ashgabat from November 17 to 19, 2023, featuring 94 Iranian companies and over 300 Iranian businesspeople and economic professionals.
The "Iran Project" exhibition represents a major national initiative designed to showcase the goods, products, and technical-engineering services of Iranian companies—specifically in sectors such as oil, gas, and petrochemical equipment and derivatives; water, electricity, and energy; the construction industry and materials; and technical-engineering services—within overseas markets, particularly the CIS region. It was organized to foster market development and analysis, facilitate sales, and secure a greater share of the regional market for Iranian exporters, thereby increasing the country's non-oil export volume.
The exhibition focused on four key areas: oil, gas, and petrochemicals; the construction industry (including equipment and materials); water, electricity, and energy; and the export of technical-engineering and road construction services.
"Holding the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission between Turkmenistan and Iran in Ashgabat will play a significant role in enhancing future cooperation."

On the sidelines of the exhibition
Coinciding with the event, the President of Turkmenistan sent a message to the participants of the "Iran Project" specialized exhibition and the "Turkmenistan-Iran Business Forum," emphasizing the expansion of bilateral trade volume, the establishment of new frameworks for interaction, and the implementation of joint projects in promising sectors. In this message, Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted Turkmenistan's infrastructure and economic projects—which were showcased at the "Iran Project" specialized exhibition—as significant initiatives for strengthening bilateral ties. He emphasized that upcoming negotiations and agreements would serve as a foundation for expanding cooperation between the business communities of the two neighboring nations into new areas and for implementing mutually beneficial projects.
The 15th "Iran Project" specialized exhibition opened on Friday, November 17, at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. Concurrently, the 17th session of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation took place in Ashgabat, co-chaired by Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Turkmenistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and attended by representatives from Iranian government agencies; a joint business forum involving merchants and private sector representatives from both countries was also held alongside these events.
Leading a delegation, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development arrived in Turkmenistan to attend the joint commission session and inaugurate the "Iran Project" exhibition. In an interview with reporters, he outlined the details of the 17th Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan and announced the holding of the "Iran Project" exhibition, featuring the participation of 300 economic actors from the two countries.
