ISNA/Markazi — The Director General of Markazi Province Customs has reported growth in both the volume and the value of the province’s exports in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (spring 2024, 1403), along with an increase in the number of export declarations filed over the period.

Speaking to ISNA, Rouhollah Gholami said that some 515 million kilograms of goods left the province in the first three months of the year — 35% more than in the same period last year.

Arak Customs accounted for nearly 290 million kilograms of that total, Saveh Customs for about 140 million kilograms, and Zarandieh Customs for more than 85 million kilograms.

The rial value of the goods exported during the quarter exceeded 143,700 billion rials, roughly $345 million, Gholami noted, adding that exports had grown 67% in rial terms and 53% in dollar terms.

Altogether, 8,207 customs export declarations were issued for the province during the quarter, an 11% increase from the previous spring.

The province’s exports reached 72 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, China, Türkiye, Germany, Hong Kong, Qatar, India, Iraq, Italy and Thailand. Markazi’s main export items included aluminum ingots, various hydrocarbons, household LPG, waterproofing materials, polyethylene granules, plastic products, disposable containers, dairy products, glass containers and glass tumblers.
