A breakdown of Iran’s main export and import items in trade with the Eurasian Economic Union over the first eight months of the Iranian year 1402 (21 March – 21 November 2023) shows fresh in-shell pistachios leading the exports list, with wheat and feed corn at the top of the imports.
Figures released by Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization show that over the eight-month period, fresh in-shell pistachios, polystyrene, and iron and steel bars were the biggest products Iran exported to the EAEU’s member states, with $78 million, $62 million, and $43 million of these three products respectively shipped to Eurasia.
Further down the list of exports to Eurasia came petroleum bitumen at $32 million, other white cement at $30 million, other shrimp varieties at $27 million, bell peppers at $26 million, fresh kiwifruit at $25 million, and tomato paste at $24 million.
On the import side, common wheat, feed corn, and other thermowood were the main goods Iran brought in from Eurasia during the eight months, at $465 million, $149 million, and $131 million respectively.
Over the same period, imports of other products included barley at $121 million, sunflower-seed oil at $70 million, lamb carcasses and half-carcasses at $42 million, and reactor parts and components at $31 million.
