According to the Central Bank of Iran, the country’s foreign currency earnings reached $25.5 billion in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (spring 2024), while the trade balance was up 51.3% year on year.

The latest foreign trade figures, as reported by ISNA, show that Iran’s oil and non-oil exports reached $25.5 billion in the first quarter of the year — up $4 billion, or 18.6%, from the $21.5 billion posted in the same period a year earlier.

Notably, the country’s trade balance also strengthened in the opening three months of the year, rising 51.4% compared with the same period last year — from $7.4 billion to $11.2 billion.

Meanwhile, more than $20 billion in foreign currency has been provided since the start of the Iranian year (20 March 2024) through 24 Tir (14 July) to fund imports of essential goods, pharmaceuticals, and commercial and trading goods, as well as imports financed against export proceeds and services.
